Gorgeous, detailed work, as usual, John! The expressions you put on your characters is super...I find that so difficult! I always wanted one of those blankets/quilts for myself!:giggle:

Thanks Joanna, I find it a good deal easier to put expressions on animals than on people, it feels like the slightest touch to a face will change it completely.

Yes snuggling under a quilt like that could take you back to childhood in a moment. :)

I really like the composition in this one, John :D shows plenty of possible stories ^_^

One part really called my attention, though :XD: the bottom right one with the bunnies and Mr. Stork  There are a number of ways to interpret this: they may be siblings and where hiding from something/someone and Mr. Stork found and told them everything was ok to come out. Or they were making out and he just happened to walk by and gave them a stern look, followed by a lecture on the flowers and the bees :o

Also, loved your reply for Prof. Swamp's glasses ;)

"Making out"!!!!!!!!!!! I'll have you know that is not the sort of thing that goes on in my books; in fact I'm surprised that such a thing would occur to you. If rabbits spent there time making out the fields would be full of them.

:XD: I don't know why that came to my mind: it could be because of the prolific habit of reproduction in rabbits. Lately I've been a bit scattermind, plus, I've been relating things in a uncommon way (for me at least).
Of course I know you wouldn't include those sort of things in your books  I only saw the innocence in it, the other bit was from my part.

I adore the quilts on the bunk beds. Doesn't Mr. Frog know not to fall asleep with his glasses on? They are going to be bent in the morning. ;)

I think he would be slightly offended to be called a frog, this is Professor Sigmund Swamp and he's a toad.
Also I think his dreams would be all blurry if he didn't wear his specs. :)

Oh my! Tell Prof. Swamp I am most apologetic regarding mistaking him for a frog. I meant no offense. I would not want his dreams to be blurry. Once I get my new glasses I shall have to nap in them and see if I can get my dreams in better focus that way. :) But I will have to sit up the whole time, or else they will be brand new bent glasses. lol

Thanks very much.

It's a composite of illustrations which have appeared over the years in my Fern Hollow series of childrens books. I put them together partly for pleasure and partly to get a second use out of them as cross stich designs on [link]
